Last week, SNCB 1852 and 1854 were used for approval runs for their type for the L2 high speed line between Leuven and Ans. As you may know, the SNCB 18 series will also be used on the various high speed lines in Belgium.

Which isn't strictly true as what it should have said is "Last week, NMBS/SNCB 1852 and 1854 were undergoing acceptance mileage accumulation between Brussels and Liège involving runs on the L2 high speed line between Leuven and Ans." It is the locomotives that are being certified not their use on the Line 2.
I really do not like the fact that most people refer to Belgian Railways only as SNCB, when 60% of Belgians call it NMBS. Technically Belgian Railways should be called NGBE/NMBS/SNCB but the German speakers always seem to call it SNCB.
NGBE = Nationalgesellschaft der Belgischen Eisenbahnen
Has anyone on here actually heard of the railway being called NGBE?

Take care lain, the locomotives are being certified, but upto last week NOT for Line 2.
Now they are verifying their behaviour with the specific security software of that line, at least that is what I understood from NMBS people.

But the T18s have been running on Line 2 since July when 1803 first entered service. What 1852 and 1854 may have is the new upgrade E of software and that is being tried on Line 2 to see if it is compatible. We shall see.
