OUIGO Brussel - Parijs
Re: Klassieke trein België-Parijs

Sorry for posting in English.
Yesterday I did Paris to Brussels via Aulnoye and Mons/Bergen for curiosity.
Due to some kind of incident at either Creil or St. Denis or both, IC2329 (22321+Corails) was late leaving Paris and diverted via the freight line from Ormoy-Villers - near Longueil. It was initially 25 minutes late and then got even later.
The 11 minute connection at Aulnoye-Aymeries was held for me and one other passenger. 19229 (472) leaving 30 late by the time it had shunted out of a siding into the same platform as the IC used. The SNCF guard had called and asked it be held but I had expected it would be held anyway. (There was also the option of a TER to Lille and a hotel going straight in to work in the morning). As the train was so late, there was no opportunity for a picture once it arrived in the platform at Aulnoye.
At the border, 472 went slowly through Quévy without stopping. The lights were on battery only for some distance north of the station. The UK term for this would be "neutral section" - I don't know how that translates to Dutch. It felt like the speed on the Belgian side of the border was slower than the speed on the French side - not what I would have expected as there are no passenger trains from Hautmont to Quévy.
The 34 minute connection at Mons/Bergen onto IC3722 (the last Brussels) was also held (after a phone call by the train staff) but might have made anyway by about 30 seconds.
Looking at the departure board for Charleroi-Sud, it looks like the other international service (Maubeuge to Charleroi and Namur) was also held for the delayed IC but the Brussels connection was not held.

Thanks for your message! How many passengers were on the train? Only 2 passengers were on the platform at Aulnoye - me + 1. That's it.Paul schreef: ↑18 dec 2018, 12:44Thanks for your message! How many passengers were on the train? Re: Klassieke trein België-Parijs
I would expect there was a distance of 2-3 train lengths with no voltage in the overhead wire. That should separate the French 25kV AC from the Belgian 3kV DC.

Afgekort VCO of voluit Voltage Change Over.
