Class 62s and Stored Belgium Loco Locations
Class 62s and Stored Belgium Loco Locations
Can anyone supply a list of Stored locations of Belgium locos please. I am visiting in 2 weeks time.
Also I have seen a picture of 6254 dragging more than 12 other Class 62s, picture was dated 15th June. Can anyone confirm what this working was and where it was going ?
Also does anyone know the future of 5204, presently at Salzinnes Works.
Thanks Adrian

Re: Class 62s and Stored Belgium Loco Locations
Nice to hear you will be spotting our rolling stock.djade80 schreef:Can anyone supply a list of Stored locations of Belgium locos please. I am visiting in 2 weeks time.

You can find even more pictures here: http://www.hgbtf.net/viewtopic.php?t=747. These locos were used to stabilise the underground by running over it, instead of using a special-purpose machine for that matter.djade80 schreef:Also I have seen a picture of 6254 dragging more than 12 other Class 62s, picture was dated 15th June. Belgium & Stored Locos
Hi Guys,
many thanks for your replys and yes I have found Belgium a great place to spot locos. Its like England used to be in the 1980s, which now has become inpossible to access any areas.
I have been to Belgium for the last 3 years, and have found everyone to be very helpful. the only depot of size that I havent been round yet is Charleroi. Hopefully this time.
My website is at http://www.geocities.com/djade80/aller.html here in the Gallery section are all my European shots, Please take a look and let me know what you think.
My French is not very good at all, so excuse me writing in English.
Looking at this Forum, which I have only recently found, where can you find details of any future Interesting workings, and where can you find details of Stock changes Allocations and withdrawls etc.
Many thanks guys.

I have checked your site, there are a lot if nice pictures in it.
Maybe one little error: The 11 series electric locomotives are on the Brussels-Amsterdam line (which also stops in Antwerp as mentioned on your site). If you take a good look at the railcars, you can see the Dutch railways logo in their sides.

I am another English enthusiast. I have visited Belgium in 1985, 1995 and 1997. I hope to visit again soon.
I remember that there was a Public Transport Day in Belgium in early October. Is this still a regular event? Are any special workings over goods lines organised? Are Class 62 diesel locomotives still used? Are new class 41 railcars mostly in use instead on beranch lines? I hope to travel from Charleroi to Couvin and visit the steam line at Mariembourg.
I have asked many questions and shall be grateful for any help.
Best wishes
John

Thank you for quick reply, SIMPY BE.
I am sad, but not surprised, to note that class 62 are no longer working passenger trains. I remember them at Hasselt in 1997 on trains to Mol.
17 September is when my brother and I have arranged to go camping with our families, so maybe next year for Public Transport Day. As for this year, I shall check Mariembourg website for operating times, and hope to combine this with travel on the Couvin branch.
Best wishes
