Ms Cazenave revealed that Eurostar, which celebrated its 30th anniversary last week, is finalising plans to offer services from London to Geneva and Zurich in partnership with Franco-Swiss operator TGV Lyria.
It is also poised to serve Frankfurt via an unlikely pact with Deutsche Bahn, which has long harboured ambitions to run its own express services through the Channel Tunnel. The German giant said in January that it regards the rail market between London and continental Europe as of “fundamental interest”.
[...]
“That means connecting Eurostar with French, German and British railways and also with airlines. Rather than investing in new infrastructure, it’s about making things happen now.”
The proposed London-Frankfurt service via Brussels, and Swiss trains via Paris, which should launch by the end of the year or early in 2025, are a case in point.
